The best time to visit Curaçao
Curaçao is an amazing destination year-round, thanks to its constant tropical climate. The temperature typically fluctuates between 28 and 30 degrees Celsius, meaning you can always enjoy warm weather. However, there are a few factors to consider when planning your vacation to Curaçao.
Hi, we are Frank and Femmie!
We live in Curacao and run our small-scale adults-only resort here. We like to share our favorite insider tips, away from the crowd.
Climate
Rainy season
Most rainfall occurs in October until January, though the showers are typically short and intense. Rain can also occur in the months surrounding this period.
Advantages during this period:
- The island is lush and full of flowers.
- Flights tend to be relatively cheaper in October and November.
- It’s more often cloudy, which is quite pleasant given the tropical climate.
Disadvantages during this period:
- December is a more expensive month to fly due to Christmas and New Year’s celebrations.
Dry season
The dry season lasts the rest of the year. In January, the weather is a bit cooler, with daytime temperatures of 28-29°C and 25-26°C at night. However, there are still days with temperatures reaching 32°C, and some rain is possible. In March and April, it’s windier, so the temperature feels more comfortable.
During the dry season, the weather remains almost constant. The hurricane season lasts from June to November, but hurricanes are rare in Curaçao (the last one was in 1877). Hurricanes can still impact the island by pulling away the wind, making it feel less breezy and warmer. This only happens when an actual hurricane is near, so not throughout the entire June-November period.
Our recommendation for the best time to visit Curaçao
Curaçao is a top destination all year round. It mainly depends on what you want to experience on the island. If you’re not tied to school holidays, it’s wise to avoid those periods as flights and accommodations tend to be more expensive. The advantage of our adults-only resort is that, even during school holidays, it remains peaceful with just four apartments. Importantly: our prices stay the same year-round!
About us
We are Frank and Femmie, and together with our two cats, Noeki and Charley, we are living our dream in Curaçao. For years, we dreamed of running a small-scale resort on this island, and in 2025, that dream became a reality. Frank lived in Curaçao from 1993 to 2001, working as a diving instructor. During our vacations on the island, the desire to live here only grew stronger. But what would we do? That’s when the idea for our small resort was born.
In 2024, we sold everything in the Netherlands and moved with our cats to Curaçao. On our first day on the island, we saw the resort for sale, and our dream came true. We knew exactly what we wanted. We don’t have children, and although Femmie has worked with children in the Netherlands for years, we decided to create an ‘adults-only’ resort.
Our accommodations
In the idyllic Casa Bohemian Curaçao, we offer four types of accommodations, all with their own bathroom:
- Apartments: Ideal for families or small groups wanting to stay together. These apartments offer comfort and privacy, with two separate bedrooms for added convenience.
- Loft: Perfect for couples or two people looking for an open, bright space with a cozy, modern interior.
- Studio with veranda: For couples or solo travelers who prefer accommodation with a private outdoor space to enjoy the sun and the view.
No matter which accommodation you choose, you can count on a comfortable and relaxing stay.
Frequently asked questions
It is definitely recommended to visit popular restaurants and excursions in advance. Excursions to Klein Curaçao, for example, do require reservations, but usually you can still do so when you are already here. During school vacations it is good to make reservations in advance. You don’t have to book restaurants weeks in advance. In general you can book up to a day in advance anywhere. In Curaçao there is not really a low and high season. The temperature is always around 30 degrees. At most it is just like in the Netherlands with school vacations busier. At Christmas and New Year’s Eve it is really much busier than the rest of the year. This is because many people born here and living abroad come to their families to celebrate Christmas and it is also school vacations.
Snorkeling and diving in Curaçao are possible year-round under good conditions.
Yes, numerous other events and festivals take place throughout the year. Think of the Curaçao Dive Festival, the Curaçao International Film Festival Rotterdam (CIFFR)., the Kaya Kaya festival and Fuikdag.
Smaller local supermarkets often remain open, while larger ones usually operate on adjusted schedules or are closed.
